SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., February 21, 2018 -- Doximity announced today that it now has over one million medical professionals as members, achieving a major milestone in the company’s history. With the addition of nearly a quarter of a million members in 2017 alone, Doximity has the largest U.S. physician membership of any online network. By accessing Doximity’s unique HIPAA-secure workflow tools -- secure calling, on call scheduling, efax service, and medical newsfeed -- from their smartphones or PCs, clinicians can do their jobs more efficiently and provide better, more coordinated care for their patients.
“The growth of Doximity within the physician community is impressive. And they continue to add new tools like Doximity Dialer that save time and help us stay focused on patient care,” said Marlene May Millen, MD, chief medical information officer, ambulatory care, at UC San Diego Health. “Dialer enables us to call patients from our smartphones, replacing our personal numbers with the main number for the medical facility. This frees us to call from anywhere at any time, and ultimately helps patients avoid delays in care.”
Doximity’s membership represents:
- 675k physicians – over 70 percent of all U.S. doctors
- 45 percent of physician assistants and nurse practitioners
- 90 percent of U.S. fourth-year medical students
- 240k new members in 2017, or a 32 percent network growth rate
