Medical Education Institutions Recognized Most Across Multiple Specialties Include Massachusetts General Hospital, Johns Hopkins University and University of California San Francisco
SAN MATEO, Calif., Jan. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Doximity, the largest professional network for physicians, today announced residency program rankings by region and the top 10 national training institutions most recognized by physicians for the quality of residency programs across multiple specialties. These new rankings are launching in time for fourth year medical school students currently in the residency application process who have completed interviews and are beginning to create their rank order list of programs where they wish to train.
One in three graduating medical students accessed the Residency Navigator tool on Doximity within the first two weeks of launch in September 2014. Now, the 18,000 medical students who are currently conducting residency interviews and making their final decisions on where they will begin their career, will have insight into which programs physicians hold in the highest regard in a particular region and the institutions that are well-respected across a broad mix of specialties.
More than 50,000 board-certified US physicians evaluated 3,691 residency training programs across 20 specialties in an effort to provide more transparency into the performance of residency programs (view methodology). Medical students and physicians can access the full list of residency programs, which includes data on alumni publication rates, practice geographies and subspecialization rates, using the free Residency Navigator tool on Doximity.
A full list of the top programs in each region across 20 specialties is available to the public through Residency Navigator. The institutions that excel in medical education across multiple specialties include:
